Ingredients
Tuvar /channa dal parippu 2 cups
Ginger 1tsp
Onion 1 small onion chopped to very small pieces
asafoitida 1 pinch
green chillies 2
Red chillies 2
Curry leaves 2 stems (leaves finely chopped)
Salt as required
Oil for fry
Preparation:
Soak dal for 2 - 3 hours. Drain well to remove entire water.
Grind the soak dal and red chillies and salt in a mixer grinder.
The dal should be ground to a coarse paste - even if some dal remains not ground, its okay.
Do not add extra water
Mix the chopped onion, green chili, ginger, curry leaves and mix well.
Make small balls of this mixture
Make small balls of this mixture
Take a small plastic cover and pat with little oil.
Put small amount of the dal mixture to this plastic cover and flatten to a round shape.
Deep fry the vada in hot oil in medium flame till both sides become golden brown color.
Remove from oil and drain.
Enjoy your vada with hot coffee/tea
